Sense organs: Eyes, Hears, Mouth, Fingers, Nose
Sensation: activation of “sense organs” by a physical source of energy.
Perception: Our body’s interpretation of stimulus.
Psychophysics: The study of the relationship between stimulus and response.
Adaptation: An adjustment in sensory capacity after prolonged exposure to unchanging stimulus.
Today we are going to begin our study of sensation and perception. We all see and interpret things in our environment based on how we sense and perceive. Understanding that everyone's perception is different provides you with an understanding of how different everyone thinks, believes and behaves.
