Did you know that there are actually sleep illnesses or conditions? Lack of sleep is detrimental to the body in numerous ways. There are conditions like night terrors, insomnia, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder and substance misuse that causes people to sleep too much or not sleep at all.
Psychology now has a sleep psychology speciality through the APA to address these conditions.
